People with fibromyalgia know what pain is. Not only do they know what pain fibromyalgia feels like they understand and know what are the symptoms to watch for when a Fibro-flare is imminent. It is not at all surprising when a fellow fibromyalgia suffer is going through exactly the same symptoms that you are going through, right? Things like muscle pain in the neck and back are far too common. Fibrofog? Forget that. The sensitivity to pain? Of course. All fibro-patients can attest to these symptoms. Curiously though, there are people who have said that they have symptoms that are quite different. Do you share any of these top 3 symptoms of other rare fibromyalgia sufferers?
Sensitivity to perfumes.
One of the rarer fibromyalgia symptoms is increased sensitivity to the scent. We are all out put the guy at the gym who smells like he is bathing in Ax Body Spray or the lady at the restaurant who smells like she threw an entire store of Bath & Body Works all on herself. Now imagine every smell is only amplified to you. Suck, right? That’s what it would be. Every delicious (or horribly unpleasant) smell is now amplified by 10. So, how does it work? Well, he has to do something medically nicknamed “allodynia” or simply, you feel pain when you normally would not – or anything that hurts you. This medical term also incorporates your other senses: hearing, sight, feeling and smell,
Another rare symptom affecting suffering from fibromyalgia is pain lipomas. Lipomas are benign fatty tumors that can occur in various parts of the body, but are not directly related to fibromyalgia. There is a problem with this: many people currently have lipomas and are not aware of it. You and me, maybe even one. Lipomas, unfortunately, affects fibromyalgia, but it suffers considerably. Since fibro-patients are affected by allodynia, these fatty deposits can be extremely painful. Lipomas usually develop on the neck, back and shoulders. This makes sleep and sitting extremely painful for people with fibromyalgia. What’s worse is that lipomas can also develop in nerves in surrounding tissues, more painful. If you happen to feel an early growth training on your body, be sure to leave your doctor.
A big problem that people with fibromyalgia have is constant pain. What is worse than constant pain? constant pain and excessive sweating, even when you are not hot. Hyperhidrosis, in simple terms, is excessive sweating. This is caused by a deficiency of the autonomic nervous system, specifically the hypothalamus. The hypothalamus is responsible for controlling various body functions that include – you guessed it – sweating. Hyperhidrosis is so severe in some cases of fibromyalgia that people actually think they have a significant fever. If you think you have hyperhidrosis or even a fever please contact your doctor!
Overall having fibromyalgia is horrible. These symptoms are not always prevalent in cases and, in fact, they occur quite infrequently. Do you or someone you know have these symptoms?
